A free outdoor pursuits and self esteem weekend and 12 weeks worth of input for your school… for free (its worth over £2K)

To celebrate the launch of our new DARA department, Wirral YFC are offering Wirral schools the opportunity to win a free 12 session Romance Academy and 14 free places (12 pupils and 2 staff) on an awesome self esteem adventure weekend at the Kingswood Center at Colomendy in North Wales. The session and weekend dates are flexible and the winning school can choose who they will send.

If you would like to enter all your school need to do is:

1. Register your interest below.
2. Produce a short video (under 10 minutes) which highlights your pupils thoughts about love, life, sexuality, self esteem and the influence of the media in these issues. The quality of video production will not be taken in to account so please don’t feel that you need to spend ages making the perfect video; we are much more interested in the views of the young people and their real stories. The video must include a mix of male and female pupils if possible.
3. Write a short explanation of why you think your school should win a free Romance Academy and Self Esteem weekend. Please also include a brief idea of how you might choose those pupils who will benefit from the academy and weekend. This can be as long as you want but don’t feel under pressure to write lots; we know you are already really busy and it only needs to be about half a page long.
4. Send us your short explanation and your video in anyway you can – Data CD, DVD, memory stick, email office@wirralyfc.org.uk (if under 10mb) or upload it somewhere and send us a link.

The closing date for applications is Friday 10th February 2012. The winning school will be chosen during the February half term and announced here on Monday 20th February.

Please note that the prize will be awarded to the winning school on the 24th February 2011 at the Wirral Youth Heroes Awards Dinner where the winning video will be shown. The winning school will receive  three complimentary tickets for the Youth Heroes awards dinner so that a member of staff and two pupils may attend to receive their prize.
